Cleft Lip and Palate Program
The Cleft Lip and Palate Program at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center is both comprehensive and multidisciplinary. Cleft lips and cleft palates are complex medical conditions requiring treatment by a broad range of medical specialists. Early intervention promotes successful outcomes, as the first year of a child’s life is crucial to facial growth and speech development.

Program Overview
Under the direction of a plastic surgeon, the Cleft Lip and Palate team delivers comprehensive care. The team includes:
- Dentists
- Oral surgeons
- Otolaryngologists
- Cleft palate nurses
- Social workers
- Speech therapists
- Genetic counselors
- Pediatricians
The clinic meets on the second Thursday of every other month, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
