On Tuesday, November 12, 2013, there will be a 7 p.m. community meeting just for Lynn residents and leaders of North Shore Medical Center and Partners HealthCare.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide Lynn residents an opportunity to learn more about NSMC’s plans for providing healthcare on the North Shore and to share their thoughts and questions about the plans.
The meeting will be held at North Shore Community College, in the Thomas McGee Building Gymnasium, 300 Broad Street Lynn, MA 01901.
The McGee parking lot is likely to fill up quickly. We encourage you to park in the MBTA parking lot adjacent to the McGee building. To view or download a larger map of the campus click here
Healthier North Shore plan:
North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) and Partners HealthCare have announced plans to improve care across a wide spectrum of healthcare services north of Boston. The plan includes NSMC (including Salem and Union hospitals) and Massachusetts General Hospital as well as Hallmark Health, which has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Partners HealthCare. Hallmark Health operates Lawrence Memorial (Medford) and Melrose-Wakefield hospitals.
Key elements of the plan include: 1) Consolidating NSMC’s hospital-based medical and surgical services on one campus at Salem Hospital and expanding and improving that facility to serve the needs of the broader community; 2) Creating Centers of Excellence in Primary Care and Behavioral Health on the Union Hospital campus, with psychiatry and behavioral health operated by Massachusetts General Hospital; 3) Expanding primary, specialty, urgent care and behavioral health services at North Shore Physicians Group (NSPG) offices, and in Lynn, Salem, and Peabody in collaboration with the Lynn Community Health Center and North Shore Community Health Center, and 4) maintaining emergency services on both the Salem and Union campuses.
This meeting is part of an ongoing dialogue between the Lynn community, North Shore Medical Center and Partners Healthcare.
