“I am so humbled by the award and feel privileged to serve the Marblehead community,” said Dr. Macomber. “I am so fortunate to work with such a committed and dedicated staff, especially my two nurses, Claudia Macomber and Cindy Zawislak who have each worked with me for many years. We all share a strong passion for taking care of patients and providing the community with the highest quality care possible.”
The award is issued annually to a single primary care physician from the nearly 1,000 primary care physicians in the Partners HealthCare network, who demonstrates superior clinical and diagnostic skill and consistently receives high scores on patient experience of care surveys. Nominations are submitted by primary care physicians in the Partners HealthCare network.
Dr. Macomber is board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics and attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed a residency at Rochester General Hospital. He has been practicing medicine in Marblehead for the past thirty years.
Dr. Macomber’s family has also been involved with NSMC for many years. His grandfather, Harold Macomber, served on the NSMC Board of Trustees for more than 20 years and had the Macomber wing located in NSMC Salem Hospital is named after him. Dr. Macomber’s father, William S. Macomber, served as Director of IT for more than 12 years. Dr. Macomber lives in Marblehead with his wife and family.
