NSMC Plastic Surgeon Appearing on “The View”
6/8/2011

Salem, Mass. – North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) plastic surgeon, Sheldon Sevinor, M.D., is scheduled to appear on ABC TV’s hit show “The View” on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. Dr. Sevinor will be discussing a recent increase in men having plastic surgery. Two of his recent North Shore patients will also be appearing on the show.

The demand for plastic surgery procedures on men has increased dramatically over the past several years. In 2010, more than 1-million men underwent cosmetic surgery in the United States. The number of cosmetic procedures for men increased more than 88% from 1997. The top five surgical procedures for men are: Liposuction, Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), Eyelid Surgery, Breast Reduction (to treat enlarged male breast), and Cosmetic Ear Surgery. The most frequently performed non-surgical procedures were Botox and Soft Tissue Fillers for wrinkles.

“Men no longer have to be shy about having plastic surgery to change some aspect of their appearance,” said Dr. Sevinor. “It is evident by this trend that men may now better understand the anti-aging pressures that women have faced over their life spans. Over the past 34 years I have always stressed to my patients that they must be realistic as to expectations regarding the results of plastic surgery.”

Tune in on Monday to get a better understanding of men’s distinctive needs before, during and after surgery. Again, the show will air this Monday (6//13/2011), on WCVB (ABC) channel 5, at 11 a.m.

Dr Sevinor has been on the medical staff at NSMC for more than 30 years. He is board certified in plastic surgery, and has offices in Lynn and Boston. For more information about Dr. Sevinor, or to view the other procedures he performs please visit www.drsevinor.com.
