Earlier this week, the last brick from the old power plant located at the front of North Shore Medical Center came down.

Patients are once again able to directly access the Davenport 4 main entrance. All Salem campus parking is now back to normal.

The new power plant

North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) unveiled a new state-of-the-art central utility plant on July 15 during a morning ribbon-cutting ceremony.

There were remarks by Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll, NSMC President Bob Norton and NSMC Senior Vice President of Operations Mary Jo Gagnon. In attendance were members of NSMC’s Board of Trustees, Salem city officials, NSMC senior leadership and physicians, members of the central utility plant project team and Salem Hospital abutters/neighbors.
