The Best Care, Right Place Campaign has recently achieved spectacular milestones.
One June 1, 2009, the
Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care opened it's doors to the public. The pristine, modern facility offers more sophisticated services than any other outpatient facility in the region.
It also serves as the home of the new
Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center, a comprehensive cancer care center.
The Best Care, Right Place campaign includes renovations to update facilities and improve the patient experience at the NSMC Salem Hospital campus, many of which have been completed.
The photo below shows the newly renovated nurses' station on Davenport 6.

Earlier in the year, two floors of the Phippen building were remodeled into 32 private rooms for primarily orthopedic, neurosurgery and neurology patients.
The rooms feature private bathrooms with showers, individual temperature controls, wireless Internet and window seats that convert to a sleeping area for family members.

Work is currently underway on the next phase of the renovations—a new 20-bed Intensive Care Unit and an expanded Level II Special Care Nursery.
