All investigators and research personnel participating in the conduct of human-subject research must complete training in human subject protections prior to engaging in research. Current IRB members must also complete training in human subjects protections.  Training must be renewed via completion of a CITI Refresher Course at a minimum every three (3) years.

The CITI program is comprehensive and provides case-based learning of ethical concepts and regulations in a web-based learning environment.

The Basic Course is the first step of the process and takes between 4 and 6 hours to complete (note that you are allowed to pause and finish up later; the program saves your place in the process.)

A Refresher Course is also available and takes approximately one hour to complete.
