Salem, Mass. – Looking for a true community event that offers ocean views, historic sites, refreshments, and entertainment, while supporting a great cause? If so, the 19th Annual North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) Cancer WALK, which will take place on Sunday, June 21, is just the thing. Winding through the storied streets of Salem, Mass., the 6.2 mile long NSMC Cancer WALK is a chance for thousands of cancer survivors, friends, family members, and concerned citizens to join together and raise much-needed funds to support state-of-the-art cancer care on the North Shore.
As the North Shore’s largest single-day fundraising event, the NSMC Cancer WALK has collectively raised more than $14 million in the fight against cancer. This year, all proceeds will directly benefit the expansion and relocation of the NSMC Cancer Center to the recently opened Mass General/ North Shore Cancer Center in Danvers. The new facility builds on more than a decades-long collaboration between NSMC and Mass General and significantly deepens the level of integration between the two institutions. The state-of-the-art facility insures continued access to comprehensive and coordinated medical, surgical, and radiation oncology care in a compassionate, community-based environment.
The NSMC Cancer WALK begins and ends at Salem Willows Park in Salem, Mass. on Sunday, June 21. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the event has a rolling start time of 8 a.m. To participate in the NSMC Cancer WALK or to make a donation, visit www.nsmccancerwalk.org or call 866-296-6900.
