Salem, Mass. – North Shore Physicians Group (NSPG) president, Steven Kapfhammer, has been honored with the American College of Healthcare Executives 2009 Massachusetts Early Careerist Healthcare Executive of the Year Award.
The award recognizes Kapfhammer as a healthcare executive under age 40 who has significantly contributed toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of the goals of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
Recipients are selected based on leadership ability, innovative and creative management, capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community, contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession, participation in local and/or state hospitals, health association and civic activities, participation in ACHE activities and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
Kapfhammer has served as president of North Shore Physicians Group since July 2008. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President of Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
North Shore Physicians Group is the largest multi-specialty physicians group north of Boston. NSPG is comprised of more than 200 physicians, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals in 17 locations throughout the North Shore.
Kapfhammer received his bachelor’s degree from University of Louisville, Kentucky and his master’s degree in Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
