The NSMC Birthplace believes that every birth is a private miracle, one that deserves the right combination of expertise, flexibility and teamwork for expectant mothers and their families. We deliver nearly 2,000 babies a year at NSMC, and are affiliated with Brigham & Women's Hospital.

You can feel secure knowing that a team of neonatologists and neonatal nurses are on hand to assist with your entire labor and recovery. We are as familiar with the issues accompanying high-risk pregnancies and deliveries as we are with the concerns of first-time mothers.

Our private rooms are beautifully designed and comfortable, and include a television, telephone and private bathroom. Our newly renovated unit features state-of-the-art security systems for mothers and infants, as well as jacuzzis and whirlpool baths. The most advanced medical equipment is in every room, too, tucked away but immediately available if the need arises. When you need to rest, our specially trained nurses will care for your newborn in the warmth of the nursery. If your baby needs extra attention, our special care nursery is available.
