NSMC Women's Health offers comprehensive care for women at all stages of life. Our affiliation with the Brigham and Women's Hospital as well as Massachusetts General Hospital enhances the quality of care we provide, and brings a range of specialists to the North Shore community. The NSMC Women's Center in Danvers brings many of these services under one roof, creating a convenient, woman-focused health center. Obstetricians, gynecologists, cardiologists and other experts work together to serve the myriad health needs of women on the North Shore.
A key component of our program is the Birthplace, a full service maternity center that delivers nearly 2,000 babies annually. The Birthplace strives to provide parents and babies with the safest, most positive childbirth experience possible. Newly renovated in 2005, it features 15 refurbished private postpartum rooms, improvements and updates to three existing labor and delivery rooms, and two new labor and delivery rooms. Three whirlpool baths and a new nurses’ station complete with a state-of-the-art fetal monitoring system were also added. The Birthplace is staffed by committed, highly skilled neonatal physicians and nurses, OB-GYN's and certified nurse midwives.
For patients facing midlife, we provide a complete range of services, coupled with wellness therapies and classes and clinical screenings. We pride ourselves on helping active women maintain their energy and productivity well into old age. Our close association with the
NSMC Cancer Center enables us to screen for, diagnose and treat a range of cancers specific to women, including breast, ovarian, cervical, and uterine.
