North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) offers a fully accredited Internal Medicine Residency program, with both one year and three year positions available. Our three-year residents choose to participate in either the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital or the Brigham and Women's Hospital, and all our residents work alongside nationally recognized sub-specialty physicians.

We have surgical residents and cardio-thoracic surgical fellows from Massachusetts General Hospital and pediatric residents from MassGeneral Hospital for Children. We are also affiliated with Tufts University Schools of Medicine, Boston University and University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicince (UNECOM).

Graduates of our residency program have continued their careers at the National Institutes of Health, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and many other reputable institutions. NSMC residents are encouraged to take part in ongoing clinical research trials and all residents are required to complete a publication-worthy project by the end of the third year.
