Morning Report is held Monday to Thursdays from 8-9 a.m. and Fridays from 7-8 a.m. Residents first report on their patient cases and follow up with a didactic assessment. The Program Director is in attendance as well as internal medicine and subspecialty faculty. One day per month from 8-9 a.m. is resident Journal Club.
Formal Attending Teaching Rounds are conducted four days per week; three days by a NSMC attending physician and one day by a visiting attending physician from Massachusetts General Hospital. The teaching format consists of case presentations/bedside teaching rounds.
Grand Rounds take place on Friday mornings from 8-9 a.m. by local, national, and international experts on all aspects of Internal Medicine.
The Herbert Cooper, M.D. Visiting Professor Series, named in honor of Dr. Herbert Cooper of NSMC, features lectures by nationally renowned physicians.
Noon conferences are conducted four day a week from 12:15-1:30 in a variety of formats. Sample conference topics include:
