The Birthplace has four certified Nurse-Midwives who provide complementary and alternative choices for your delivery, iincluding pre-conception counseling, prenatal counseling, education about pregnancy and childbirth, and ongoing health counseling and check-ups.

They work closely with you to create a birth plan that fits your cultural beliefs and family traditions and is in every way as safe and comfortable as possible.

You may choose natural delivery, or be supported by medication. Our Nurse-Midwives can also make it possible for you to deliver vaginally after a previous cesarean section. Should you or your baby need the assistance of an OB-GYN at any time, you can feel comfortable knowing your nurse midwife is backed by the North Shore’s finest specialists right through delivery.
