Patients who need particularly complex treatment such as bone marrow transplantation can also receive much of the expert care they need closer to home.

Bone marrow transplantation may be recommended to treat many types of leukemia and lymphomas. Under the guidance of Steven McAfee, M.D., Clinical Co-Director of the Bone Marrow Transplant Program at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, bone marrow transplant patients can receive all pre-transplant testing and preliminary treatment, as well as post-transplant follow-up at the new Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center.
