Our multidisciplinary Breast Clinic is designed for patients who are newly diagnosed with breast cancer and/or seeking a second opinion. The clinic is comprised of physicians expert in every area of breast cancer care and treatment. This comprehensive approach offers patients the opportunity to be seen and examined by a medical oncologist and radiation oncologist all in the same afternoon.

The pathologist, radiologist, surgeon, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist on the team review the patient’s case after the examinations are concluded. Patients receive an opinion from each clinician, as well as a consensus recommendation by the panel. Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center can also help you coordinate care, as needed.

Breast Cancer Risk Program

Identifying a woman's risk for breast cancer enables her to take steps to reduce the risk -- or increase the chances of finding the breast cancer while it is curable. This new, proactive evaluation program includes a personalized risk assessment, clinical breast exam, genetic counseling, access to proven breast cancer prevention drugs and clinical prevention trials.

A woman's primary care physician must refer her to the program, but once referred, she can call the Center to make an appointment.   978 882 6060

Mary E. Costanza, M.D. heads up the program
