Family Medicine physicians at NSMC provide primary care for people of all ages, from infants to seniors. They diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, and provide annual check ups,
age-appropriate screenings and vaccinations. They may have
sub-specialty training in Adolescent Medicine, Geriatric Medicine,
Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Sleep Medicine and/or Sports Medicine. If a patient requires specialized follow-up care or hospitalization, Family Medicine physicians coordinate referrals to specialists at NSMC.
Because Family Medicine physicians treat all members of a family, they
have the advantage of being able to gain a comprehensive view of that
family. Some families prefer to see just one physician for all their
health needs.
