Read about our expanding Hospitalist ProgramNSMC employs both hospitalists and intensivists to manage the care of our hospitalized patients throughout their stay.
Both hospitalists and intensivists monitor their patients' progress around-the-clock, coordinate and consult with specialists and stay in close touch with family members and primary care physicians.
The difference between the two is that intensivists manage the care of patients in intensive care, while hospitalists work closely with all other patient groups.
All NSMC hospitalists are either board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine. Our Intensivists are trained in Critical Care Medicine.
