NSMC Heart Center, Phippen 5

Our Cardiac Catheterization & Interventional Laboratory is the only facility on the North Shore abler to provide primary angioplasty--a life-saving procedure that is the fastest method of opening blocked arteries in patients suffering from a heart attack.
We are consistently
able to perform this life-saving measure within 90
minutes, above the national average. Click here to read more about our "door-to-balloon time" performance. Click "current scores" under the Hospitals Individual Scores.
We provide primary angioplasty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.
Our spectrum of angioplasty procedures includes:
--Right & left heart catheterization
--Coronary angiography
--Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (balloon angioplasty/stent)
--Intravascular Ultrasound
--Primary angioplasty
--Pericardiocentesis
--Carotid, aortic, renal, iliac and subclavian angioplasty

Following angioplasty, most patients enter the NSMC Cardiac Rehabilitation program, a multi-tiered approach to rehabilitating the heart and overall improving a patient's fitness.
