The Partial Hospital
program offers an intensive outpatient treatment for individuals who do not
meet criteria for inpatient hospitalization but need additional support than
can be provided at an outpatient level.
The program works with adolescent and adult patients in two separate
tracks who are struggling with mental health, substance abuse and other
behavioral difficulties. The program is
skill-based with intensive group therapy and the goal of stabilizing patients
to help them return to their regularly scheduled activities. Program staff work with the family, school,
social service agencies and preexisting treaters to develop an individualized
treatment plan that will help the patient succeed in the least restrictive
setting.
The program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 3:00
pm. The average length of stay is one to
two weeks. The program includes a
comprehensive, skill-based group curriculum, individual psychotherapy,
psychopharmacological care and family therapy.
Family sessions are required weekly for adolescents, and recommended to
adults.
Specific services and interventions may include:
- Individual
and family assessment and patient-focused therapy; Psychopharmacological
evaluation and management
- Coordination
of care with outpatient providers and community supports
- Developing
a transition plan to support patients in their return to school or work
and family
- Group
therapy including specific groups in relapse prevention, illness
management, creative and expressive therapy and cognitive-behavioral
therapy
- Substance
