Annual mammograms are currently offered at three NSMC locations --
NSMC Salem Hospital,
NSMC Union Hospital and the
NSMC Women's Center in Danvers.
Advanced
diagnostic testing, including stereotactic or ultrasound-guided needle
biopsy, as well as digital mammography, breast MRI and breast
ultrasound, are offered at our newest Breast Health Center now open at
the
Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in
Danvers. Genetic screening and counseling, as well as a Patient
navigator support program and outpatient breast surgery, round out the
Breast Health services at the new Center.
The Breast Health Center on Phippen 4 of NSMC Salem Hospital is a beautifully designed space offering the following enhanced services:
- Reports of normal test results within one week
- Call back within 48 hours if additional follow-up is needed
- A Breast Health "Navigator" who guides patients with positive results through the next steps
- Appointment with a surgeon within 48 hours if necessary
Test results from repeat mammograms are also provided immediately.
If further testing is warranted, diagnostic services such as
stereotactic and ultrasound-guided needle biopsy are available.
