NSMC's Breast Health program provides a continuum of coordinated care to support your breast health, from annual mammograms to a wide array of advanced treatments including surgery and cancer care.
We offer annual mammogram screenings at three NSMC locations -- NSMC Salem Hospital, NSMC Union Hospital and NSMC Women's Center in Danvers. We also provide free screening services to low income women and many other risk assessments at those same locations.
Breast MRI services are provided in Danvers, Salem and at 4 Centennial Drive in Peabody.
For women who have previously received a diagnosis of breast cancer, we provide advanced diagnostic testing at our newest Breast Health Center, now open at the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers. Our services at the Center include stereotactic or ultrasound-guided needle biopsy, digital mammography, breast MRI, breast ultrasound, and genetic screening and counseling.
A recent addition to our Breast Health program is the role of "Breast Health Navigator", an expert who helps guide patients with abnormal mammography results through the diagnostic and treatment options available to them. Outpatient breast surgery rounds out the comprehensive Breast Health care we provide.l
The Breast Health Center located on Phippen 4 of NSMC Salem Hospital offers the following enhanced service:
Reports of normal test results within one week
Call back within 48 hours if additional follow-up is needed
