Building A Healthier North Shore

NSMC Salem Entrance and Parking

NSMC Salem Hospital will begin construction on its main visitor entrance (Davenport 4) and campus parking adjacent to Highland Avenue beginning the week of April 29. The project will last approximately eight months, during which time patients will be redirected to alternate entrances. This map shows patient parking and construction areas, and this flier shows services and entrances impacted by this construction.

Please allow extra time before your appointment for these detours. There will be extra valets and parking assistants available to help patients throughout the construction. Valet parking at NSMC is always free. Multiple greeters and guides will also be available inside of the hospital to help patients and visitors find their way.

Thank you for your patience as we improve NSMC!

Project Details

The construction project will level the area in front of the Davenport building, making it easier for the many patients who are dropped off or picked up here. The project will also reconfigure the parking area in front of the Davenport and Wheelock buildings while adding an additional 55 parking spaces. Trees, new landscaping and additional signage will make the area more inviting for patients and their families.

Lab and EKG Services

During construction, NSMC’s blood draw and EKG services, currently located on Davenport 4, will be relocated to the MassGeneral for Children (MGfC) at North Shore Medical Center lobby.  This move will enable patients to easily access these key services. A limited number of parking spaces outside MGfC will be also reserved for these patients.
