Education and Training
All investigators and research personnel participating in the conduct of human-subject research must complete training in human subject protections prior to engaging in research. Current Institutional Review Board (IRB) members must also complete training in human subject protections. Training must be renewed via completion of a Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Refresher Course at a minimum every three (3) years.
This comprehensive program provides case-based learning of ethical concepts and regulations in a web-based learning environment.
- The Basic Course is the first step of the process and takes between 4 and 6 hours to complete (note that you are allowed to pause and finish up later; the program saves your place in the process.)
- A Refresher Course is also available and takes approximately one hour to complete.
If you would like to complete the CITI course, please read the detailed instructions
or go directly to www.citiprogram.org
to learn more.
