An important goal of the pulmonary rehabilitation program is to help patients learn how to maintain their health after they have finished. A maintenance exercise program is available to graduates of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. Patients exercise independently, but still have the supervision of the rehabilitation staff available during exercise.
The staff checks oxygen saturation during exercise and monitors blood pressure as needed. For a monthly fee, patients can attend a one hour class, twice a week. The program is held at various times during the week and is located in the same space as the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program.
Smoking is well known to be the primary risk factor for lung disease. Our tobacco treatment specialists provide support and education to help patients succeed in our smoking cessation program.
