Change is Simple, an environmental education non-profit, partnered with North Shore Medical Center for this year's North Shore Cancer Walk. This 6 mile walk and gathering sees between 5000-7000 people move through Salem Willows each year. Change is Simple partnered with NSMC in 2012 to help reduce the waste the event creates. Diversion in 2012 was 85%. In 2013 the partnership diverted 94% of the waste from the event (diversion means the waste was not sent to an incinerator).
