North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) has been designated as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (COEMIG).
This highly selective designation was awarded by the Surgical Review Corporation and AAGL, and is given to those hospitals and surgeons that meet rigorous quality and practice criteria. The program is designed to continuously improve care quality and patient safety in the field of gynecology.
Four NSMC surgeons are included in the NSMC Center of Excellence designation and perform the full range of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) procedures available at NSMC: Christopher Coffey, M.D., John R. Gelinas, M.D., Luisa Kontoules, M.D., and Nancy R. Peterson, M.D.
