NSMC Physician Announces Retirement after 38 Years in Practice

Dr. Leidner has been a part of the NSMC medical staff for 38 years and has held a number of leadership positions during his tenure including Chief of the Department of Otolaryngology. During Dr. Leidner’s time at North Shore Medical Center, his leadership helped NSMC become one of the first hospitals outside of Boston to use computer-assisted endoscopic guidance technology for sinus surgery, resulting in safer and more precise surgery and improving patient care and comfort.

Dr. Leidner is a graduate of Brooklyn College and Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in medicine, surgery and otolaryngology at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. He also served two years of active duty in the United States Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Leidner’s academic roles include clinical instructor in otolgy and laryngology at Harvard Medical School, and assistant clinical professor of otolaryngology at Tufts University School of Medicine. He is also a founding member and past president of the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
