All programs are open to everyone. You do not need to be an NSMC patient.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Group

A free support group for grandparents raising grandchildren. Led by Elizabeth Yourgrau, MA, MSW, LICSW. This is a drop-in group, no registration required. Group meets the first Monday of the month from 11 – noon in the Family Resource Center at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center (4th floor).  Call 978.354.2660 for more information.


National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI)

For family and friends of those dealing with mental health issues and challenges. Meets the last Wednesday of every month, 7 - 8:30 p.m. at the Davenport 102 A and 101 conference rooms at NSMC Salem Hospital. Support for Individuals & Families Experiencing Substance Use


G.R.A.S.P.: Grief Recovery after a substance passing

This free, peer-led group is open to anyone who has lost a family member or loved one to fatal overdose. Learning to Cope North Shore

This is a free, peer-led support network that serves individuals and families who have someone in their life struggling with the disease of addiction. Meets every Thursday from 7 –8:30 p.m. in the Davenport 101 conference room at NSMC Salem Hospital.
