North Shore Medical Center provides comprehensive psychiatric services for patients of all ages. As an affiliate of Partners Psychiatric, the NSMC Psychiatry Department works closely with Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.  Our expertise in matching clients with the most appropriate level of care has resulted in fewer and shorter hospitalizations, reduced overall use of health care resources and increased quality of life.  Learn more

Comprehensive services


For adults and adolescents over 16 we offer inpatient and outpatient services, a partial hospital program, ECT therapy and neuropsychological assessment. Outpatient therapy includes individual, group, family and couples, sensory, milieu, and psychopharmacology.

Our child psychiatry services include inpatient unit, partial hospital program for adolescents, neuropsychological assessment and outpatient therapy and family support.

We also have a dedicated psychiatry program for older adults

Referrals

Referrals to the inpatient unit come from many sources, including local and regional emergency rooms, residential treatment programs and outpatient treatment providers. Referrals are directed through the NSMC psychiatric triage system at 978.354.4550.
