Family medicine physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions and offer annual check ups, age-appropriate screenings and vaccinations. NSMC family medicine physicians have offices throughout the North Shore; many also offer extended night and weekend hours.

Patients needing specialty consultations or care are referred to medical or surgical specialists at NSMC Salem Hospital and NSMC Union Hospital, or in some cases to Massachusetts General Hospital or Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Many of our family medicine physicians use state-of-the-art electronic medical records, which provide them with secure access to your complete, up-to-date medical information. This electronic system is also linked to the hospitals of Partners HealthCare, including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In the event you are hospitalized, your doctors and nurses can access your medical information immediately.
