Our neurology physicians provide patient-focused, world-class medical care for patients with neurological diseases of the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves and/or muscles. They care for patients with chronic headaches/migraines, problems with motor control (movement disorders), tremors and back, leg or neck pain, as well as a range of other conditions.
TeleNeurology videoconferencing and image sharing technology enable our physicians to consult with Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) neurologists about a patient’s plan of care while staying at NSMC. The technology can be activated within minutes and provide timely access to world-class neurology experts. An NSMC physician or nurse will be present during the evaluation and involved in every stage of your care.
Collaborating with MGH to add TeleNeurology services enhances care for both patients and clinicians. TeleNeurology is available for all stroke, emergency and routine neurology consults 24 hours a day, seven days a week at both the Salem and Union campuses.
NSMC Salem and Union Hospitals are designated Stroke Centers. Our emergency departments and inpatients units rapidly diagnosis and treat stroke patients, and NSMC physicians in collaboration with MGH neurologists conduct patient evaluations and administer clot-busting medications to those who need it.
