Overview
The Department of Pediatrics at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center represents more than a dozen years of clinical collaboration with MassGeneral Hospital for Children in Boston. A full spectrum of pediatric care is offered, including in-patient care, subspecialty clinics, rehabilitation services, multidisciplinary evaluation, neurodevelopmental center, behavioral medicine program, and diagnostic services such as pediatric radiology and audiology. Our full service pediatric emergency department treats over 17,000 children every year and is the only one on the North Shore open 24 hours a day. Read more
Program Highlights
Subspecialty services at Mass General for Children at North Shore Medical Center include pediatric cardiology, cleft lip and palate, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric gastroenterology, genetics, high-risk infant follow-up, pediatric infectious disease, neonatology, pediatric nephrology, pediatric neurology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, pediatric primary care, pediatric psychiatry, pediatric radiology, pediatric rheumatology, speech and language, and pediatric surgery and orthopedic surgery.
Through close collaboration with NSMC's Department of Psychiatry we are able to provide comprehensive services in mental health our youngest patients, including behavorial disorders and developmental disabilities. In addition to outpatient services, a 20-bed child psychiatry inpatient unit is located at NSMC Union Hospital in Lynn.
The gateway to these pediatric services is a network of North Shore pediatricians and family medicine physicians. Some are in private practice but many are part of North Shore Physicians Group (NSPG), which is affiliated with North Shore Medical Center.
