During the three years of training residents build a patient panel. They manage the chronic health needs of this patient panel while also delivering preventive medicine. Residents are expected to enhance their personal performance in known quality measures, e.g. aspirin use in diabetic patients.
A comprehensive ambulatory curriculum is provided over the three years and includes subspecialty experience. Matching each resident with an attending primary care physician from North Shore Physicians Group creates the opportunity for individualized teaching, mentorship and continuous personal feedback.
Diverse outpatient settings
During outpatient service residents experience a broad range of outpatient settings, from private practice to a one month rotation at an elder care center.
