Anxiety Group for Teens

A psychoeducation series led by Michele Casoli-Reardon, MD., Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist,  Group meets in the Family Resource Center at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center (4th floor), six  week series, 4-5 p.m.  Spring and Fall with sufficient interest.  Call 978.354.2670 for more information.  $75 registration fee.

Balance After Baby

This support group, led my NSMC Psychologist, Lauren DeRienzo, PsyD., will help new moms learns about the emotional changes that occur after childbirth. Depression-Fighting Boot Camp for Adults

Much as we might want to deny it, fighting depression takes hard work. Grief Group for Children, Adolescents and Teens


A free expressive support group for children who have experienced a loss whether it be a grandparent, parent, sibling or friend.  Ages 7-12 (5-6 p.m.) and 13-18  (6-7 p.m.) on the first floor at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center.  Call 978.354.2660 for more information. FREE


G.R.A.S.P. Grief Recovery after a substance passing, GRASP North Shore

This peer group is open to anyone who has lost a family member or loved one to fatal overdose. Meets the first Thursday of the month, 7 - 8:30 p.m., at 55 Highland Avenue (Highland Hall), in the auditorium on the ground floor. Call 781.593.5224 or email with questions.  October-December, 2016 groups will meet in the Davenport 101 (ground floor) at NSMC Salem Hospital.  FREE



Learn to Cope North Shore

This peer family support group is for adults living with a loved one with a drug addiction. Maintain your Practice

The first Wednesday of each month for those interested in refreshing or beginning mindfulness practices (see also Mindfulness for Children next in the list, as well as Stress Reduction clinics lower in this list). Marijuana and Alcohol:  The Real Deal 

A psychoeducational program with one group devoted to concerned parents and one group devoted to adolescents 13-18 years old, both designed to learn the truth about these substances and how to navigate conversations. Meets at 55 Highland Avenue (Highland Hall)  quarterly.  $30 registration fee.


Mindfulness for Children in Everyday Life

Mindfulness and meditation for children ages 8-10.  Meets Thursdays, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m., 55 Highland Avenue (Highland Hall) in the auditorium on the ground floor. $120 registration fee. 

Mood Disorders Support Group

Parents share strategies, resources, guidance and support with other parents seeking behavioral health and wellness for their children.  Meets the first Wednesday of every month, 12 - 1 p.m., in the Family Resource Center at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center (4th floor).  FREE

Parent Group of Psychiatrically Hospitalized Children

This group will address questions and concerns that family members might have about their children being in the hospital.  Meets Tuesday's 4 - 5 p.m., in Conference Room A (ground floor) NSMC Union Hospital.

Parents Helping Parents

Parent to parent support, which follows the statewide model.  Group meets weekly on Tuesdays, 11 - 12 noon at MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center (4th floor). Parenting Today

Stop the power struggles. Get your teen to take responsibility and build mutual respect. MassGeneral for Children at North Shore Medical Center , Group meets in the Family Resource Center, 4th floor. The $55 registration fee includes a workbook. Call for more information.


Sibling Support Program

Sibshop is a recreational peer support program for siblings (ages 8-13) with a brother or sister with any developmental, behavioral or medical health disorder. Meets at the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers.  Call 978.354.2660 for dates and information. $15 registration fee.


Stress Reduction Clinic Programs

Training and practice in mindfulness, meditation, and mindful hatha yoga.  Adult groups meet Tuesdays, 6 - 8:30 p.m. on the first floor of  MassGeneral/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care . Children groups meet Thursdays 4:30-5:30 pm at.55 Highland Avenue (Highland Hall)   Adults pay a fee of $375, Children $120. Discounts and scholarships are available. Introduction to Mindfulness Workshops

Offers students a taste of mindfulness and mind-body connection. High School & College 4-part series or choice of practice theme, meets at MassGeneral/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care.
